Encourage Others to Thrive

Two years have passed since COVID impacted my life. Two years with no events to promote my nonprofit. Two years without attending an event simply to encourage others. (And over two years since I wrote my last blog. Yikes!) Two years gone, with no end in sight.

That is until I was invited to an outdoor Hillsborough County Schools event on February 5th. The purpose is to provide deaf and hard of hearing students and their parents with community resources. Many parents of deaf children are unsure of what options their child has for their future and are desperate for support.

I can’t wait to arrive there Saturday to encourage and share my story of overcoming adversity. Despite the children’s challenge of limited hearing, they can succeed and thrive, just like the rest of us. They can be actors, doctors, artists, basketball players, or anything they can imagine. No matter the limitations, WE still can do anything. It may be hard for them to believe but it is true. Success in life often requires fierce determination.

God created each of us with unique talents and purpose. You can’t let anyone limit you based on your obstacle, and you can’t limit other people. Please encourage those around you to follow what God has planned for them.

“Therefore encourage one another and build each other up, just as in fact you are doing.”

1 Thessalonians 5:11 NIV

How can you encourage someone today?
