“You should write a book about your life,” many people tried to encourage me years ago. Yet, these words made me cringe. Why would someone want to hear my story?

From my perspective, my story is nothing. I hadn’t lived my whole life yet. At the time, I hadn’t even gotten a diagnosis. What point is there to tell my story? For many years, I put this idea aside.
Over time, I challenged myself to put myself in other people’s shoes and understand how my story can encourage, inspire, and make a difference in others’ lives. I felt God lay on my heart to write my story and share all He has done for me.
In the early stages of writing my memoir, I wrestled with the pain and emotions that arose. I learned a lot about myself and shared some of my deepest experiences; expressed my hurts and joys. Truth be told, I didn’t like to write about my life. However, when I poured out all the struggles I had endured in my life, I saw God’s hands weave my pain and joy together into one great thread. Writing became one of the ways I worship the Lord. As I write, I am humbled with praise, worship, and gratitude.
Despite the obstacles I face, God is full of wisdom. When I lift my voice to Christ through my writing, I am graced with His wisdom and plan. I am amazed how God can do anything through our worship, even through writing.
Many of us have different ways we worship: music, serving, giving, art, and more. God can use all forms of worship to teach us amazing lessons and reveal His sovereign plan.
I welcome you to share, how do you worship the Lord?
Lord, you are my God; I will exalt you and praise your name, for in perfect faithfulness you have done wonderful things, things planned long ago. Isaiah 25:1 NIV
